Immaterielles Kulturerbe als Spiel?

Intangible cultural heritage as a game?

In cooperation with the Institute for Empirical Cultural Studies at the University of Freiburg, a remarkable game has been created: 4 examples of intangible cultural heritage recognized by the German UNESCO Commission were independently researched by students and made sonically tangible with great creative effort;

Storytelling, songs of the workers' movement, organ music/organ building and the Swabian-Alemannic carnival can now be discovered and played in our acoustic game collection!

We are absolutely thrilled with this little project, which brings our vision of a playable sound encyclopedia a step closer. Our sincere thanks go to everyone involved!

What is intangible cultural heritage?

“People dance, make music and sing. They cultivate customs and relationships and their environment. In doing so, they preserve and shape their cultural heritage by passing on their knowledge and skills to the next generations.” – With these words, the German UNESCO Commission describes its understanding of intangible cultural heritage.
